Hello once again from the Primary Headquarters Of Jingoistic Pleased With The Mid-Term Election Results Firearms Owning West Texans.
What does the number FIFTY  TWO  mean to me?   FIFTY TWO is the number of weeks in a year....No, that's not it.    FIFTY  TWO is the number of cards in a standard deck.... No, that's not it either..... AH!  I think I have it.  It is the number of REPUBLICAN  Senators we will have in the Senate in 2015.  BUT it could actually be more, depending upon the results of a couple of run-off elections  AND  as far as I know the results of the Alaska elections.
NOW, it is time to hold those FIFTY  TWO  Senator's  feet  to  the  fire  and make damn sure they DO  NOT   BLOW  IT.   With a Republican controlled House AND Senate, it might be a really good idea NOT to piss-it-off like George Bush and the Republican Party did in the PRE-OBAMA era.
I know that today, Mitch McConnell and other recently elected Republican Senators have all talked about how they want to work with the Democrats/Progressives/Socialists in order to get some things done.  BUT they ALL need to remember in the past few years just exactly how well the Democrats/Progressives/Socialists were willing to  work with them.

AND, the entire nation needs to remember that while the Republican controlled House of Representatives passed over three hundred bills, that the Democrat controlled Senate under the incompetent leadership  of Harry Reid made sure that they did not even come up for a vote in the Senate.
AND it would not hurt the American people to be more interested in seeing them DO  WHAT  IS  RIGHT  over working and playing well with the Democrats/Progressives/Socialists.
Another election result which pleased me was that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was able to hold onto his job and from what I read in the  (Sub) Standard Times this morning, Republican Governor Candidates made some really unexpected progress.   A REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR IN  ILLINOIS?
And, in Texas the Republicans made a really clean sweep of the National and State-wide Offices.  In the races for Governor;  Attorney General;  State Comptroller;  Railroad Commissioner;   Agriculture Commissioner;   and Texas Land Commissioner,  all of the Republican Candidates  won with OVER  76%  of  the  vote. And, for those of you residing in the People's Republic of  San Francisco, that is a really  CLEAR  MAJORITY.
BUT, before we get to celebrating too much, let us ALL  remember  that  at  the National Level, the Republican National Committee along with Karl Rove and other professional political hacks will now go to work in selecting the 2016 Republican Candidate for President of the United States.   AND let us further remember that in the past TWO Presidential elections, this band of merry men gave us JOHN MC CAIN and MITT  ROMNEY.  LET  US  MAKE  SURE  THAT  DOESN'T  HAPPEN  AGAIN IN 2016 OR YOU CAN JUST COLOR  HILLARY  CLINTON IN  AS  OUR  NEXT  PRESIDENT.  And if that thought doesn't scare you enough throw up,  just imagine  how  vindictive  she  will be along with having Bill Clinton in the role as "First Dude" or perhaps "First  Henpecked Husband"  or  more accurately,  "First Turd".
If you think Hillary was a pain in the rear at the  Benghazi Hearings, just let her get a taste of real power.  And one must wonder if there is any truth to the rumor that as she was leaving her post as Secretary of State she could be heard to screech, "I'll  get you my pretty, and your little dog too".
Well I really must head out.  I understand that there is a WENDY  DAVIS   WHINE IN at the Tom Green County Court House.  And just to put your mind at rest, I don't give a damn about Wendy Davis but it will be fun to watch Democrats/Progressives/Socialists  try to explain how their darling got beat like a tied goat.

I guess that by now, everyone knows that I am a huge fan of Texas High School Football.  Here in San Angelo, we have two high schools.  The largest being San Angelo Central High School which is in the  6A  classification and Lake View High School which is in the 5A classification.  Central High School has done really well this year and in a couple of days will play Odessa Permian for the District Championship.   Lake View High School has not done as well and last Friday night got beat pretty soundly by Plainview High School.  But, the final score wasn't the big story of the game.  Plainview High School had a running back named  Warren FLYE.   And from the reports, he literally could FLY.  Against Lake View, young Mr. FLYE  was given the ball on 22 running plays.  And with those 22 rushes, Warren FLYE rushed for a single game school record of 526 yards.  Yes, that's what I said, FIVE  HUNDRED AND  TWENTY  SIX  YARDS. And that works out to an average of approximately 24 yards per carry.  Quite a night for a high school athlete.
Last week on the Editorial Page of the (Sub) Standard Times, there appeared an article entitled,  IS  BETTER  TECHNOLOGY  MAKING  US  IGNORANT?   And while I don't agree with many articles appearing in the (Sub) Standard Times, I had to agree pretty well with everything in this article.  While at a coffee shop earlier this morning, two friends and I were discussing this article and I pointed to three young men sitting several tables to our right.  EVERY SINGLE  ONE  OF  THEM was working their thumbs at light speed on their various hand-held devices.  I try to make it a point almost every day to watch and see what people are doing WHILE  DRIVING  THEIR  AUTOMOBILES.  If you get stuck behind someone at a red light, and the light turns green and the car ahead of you remains motionless, you can almost bet that this individual is either texting someone OR receiving a text message.  Of course this is really a dangerous habit in which to get as it is almost impossible to pay attention to your driving while you are trying to either read or send a message.   The writer of this article quotes quite a bit from a book entitled "The Glass Cage" by Nicholas Carr.   One of the quotes she uses from this book is, "As we transform ourselves into creatures of the screen, the  existential question is: Does our essence still like in what we know, or are we content to be defined by what we want? "  Then the author tells us to just look around -- our society plainly looks more motivated by wanting than by knowing.
I will leave with this final thought for today.  While I am really pleased with  many of the election results from yesterday, we cannot and must not become overly contented with these victories that we lose sight of the really big one coming up in 2016.   We must concentrate and work on not only retaining but increasing  the Republican majorities in both Houses of Congress BUT we must work harder than ever to get a conservative in the White House.  AND  REMEMBER,  DO NOT  BE CONTENT  WITH JUST GETTING  REPUBLICANS  ELECTED,  MAKE  SURE  THEY  DO  THEIR  JOBS  AND  DO  WHAT  IS  RIGHT  FOR  AMERICA  AND  TO HELL  WITH  POLITICAL  CORRECTNESS!

Also, I don't know why this format came up today but I couldn't do anything about it.  I am sure my computer has a mind of its own.
